At GITEX GLOBAL 2024, the largest IT and consumer electronics event in the Middle East, Positive Technologies announced new partnerships with cybersecurity service providers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and India. The collaboration aims to share expertise in advanced cybersecurity solutions and promote innovative products designed to protect organizations from evolving threats.

Recent studies by Positive Technologies reveal a sharp rise in cyberattacks targeting public sector entities, industry, telecommunications, and IT firms in the Middle East. Notably, the number of DDoS attacks in Gulf countries surged by 70% in the first half of 2024 compared to 2023. Additionally, access credentials for local companies’ IT infrastructures are being sold on dark web platforms, with two-thirds priced under USD 1,000.

In response to these challenges, Positive Technologies advocates for continuous, automated cybersecurity protection. “Companies in the region are highly receptive to our vision of automating cybersecurity processes, especially with MaxPatrol O2, which automatically identifies and responds to cyberattack chains,” said Evgeniya Popova, Director of International Business Development at Positive Technologies. She also highlighted growing interest in PT ICS, a solution for safeguarding industrial IT and OT infrastructure, and PT Application Inspector, focused on application security and secure development.

Positive Technologies is also expanding its partner network beyond the Middle East, solidifying its presence in global markets. Salem Baras, CEO of Innovative Solutions (Saudi Arabia), emphasized the long-term commitment of Positive Technologies to enhancing cybersecurity capabilities in the region. “Partnering with Positive Technologies allows us to further strengthen our services and protect our customers,” said Baras.

In the UAE, Nishad Sukumaran, COO of NX Digital Technology, reaffirmed their ongoing collaboration with Positive Technologies, focusing on SOC operations and vulnerability management.

Experts at Positive Technologies also noted a 15% increase in cyberattacks in India in 2023, with a further 46% surge in Q2 2024. The majority of these attacks resulted in the leakage of sensitive data. This growing threat led to the launch of a series of international cybersecurity meetups in India, beginning October 11, 2024.

Jibu John, Founder and CEO of CyberDisti (India), expressed excitement about the expanded partnership with Positive Technologies, emphasizing their shared mission to offer cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies to clients in the Middle East, Africa, and India.

This year’s announcement follows Positive Technologies’ successful partnerships at GITEX GLOBAL 2023, where they secured agreements with several providers in Bahrain and Singapore.
