ROG launches Zephyrus M16 gaming laptop with 16” display

The ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has launched Zephyrus M16 gaming laptop with a 16” display for an ultimate gaming experience. The laptop also has a powerful new Intel® processor housed in a 15-inch ultra-slim chassis, and it’s barely 19.9mm thick and weighs 1.9kg.

Great-refresh-rate gaming and high performance in content creation are made possible by the latest CPUs, including the Intel Core i9-11900H. In the latest games, the GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU delivers excellent frame rates and RTX innovations. The M16 is kept cool under the user’s fingers thanks to ROG Intelligent Cooling, ensuring good CPU and GPU performance.

The 16″ display combines a high WQXGA resolution with a quick 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms reaction time, and Adaptive-Sync for fluid, vividly detailed images in games. It also has a taller 16:10 aspect ratio, which makes it ideal for content development. With the Zephyrus M16’s multi-faceted audio system for streaming, recording, and gaming, the user can be totally immersed in any circumstance. A six-speaker system with dual force-canceling woofers creates clean and deep sounds.

16″ display in ultra-slim 15″ form factor

The compact chassis of the Zephyrus M16 combines a 16-inch display into a chassis that is 5% smaller than last year’s 15-inch Zephyrus M15. It has a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio and a larger 16:10 aspect ratio, allowing for more content to be displayed on the screen.

The underlying panel combines fluidity and detail with a 165Hz refresh rate and WQXGA resolution, while the 3ms reaction time keeps animation sharp. By syncing the refresh rate with the GPU’s frame rate, Adaptive-Sync prevents screen tearing and makes gameplay even smoother.

The display is factory calibrated, and Pantone Validated to ensure correct colours right out of the box, making it ideal for content creators. Full DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage provides a beautiful colour palette, while 500 nits of brightness ensure a bright picture even outside. Dolby Vision alters pictures in real time to make them richer and brighter. Creators can use it to film and edit their movies and streams in a format that industry pros are familiar with.

Powerful new Intel processor

The GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU delivers the Zephyrus M16 outsized gaming performance for such a tiny laptop. The top-of-the-line Core i9-11900H CPU clocks in at 4.9GHz, giving an incredible performance. It’s completely suited for game streaming, video rendering, and creative endeavours, with eight cores and sixteen threads. The sophisticated system architecture of the Zephyrus M16 allows the CPU to run at up to 45W of continuous power when the GPU is engaged and 80W on its own. With ROG Boost, the RTX 3070 Laptop GPU can clock up to 1390MHz at 80W thanks to efficient cooling. When CPU demands are low, Dynamic Boost diverts an additional 20W of electricity, allowing for even more performance.

Scenario Profiles allow users to identify various games and apps with specific operating modes, lighting effects, and other system settings, allowing them to move between operating modes manually or automatically. With all of the above options, the tailored optimization provides consumers with the greatest possible experience.

True portability

The ROG Zephyrus M16s are extremely portable. It’s easy to carry under the user’s arm or put into a backpack because it’s only 19.9mm thick and weighs only 1.9kg. The 90Wh battery provides up to 10 hours of movie playback and can be charged to 50% in 30 minutes thanks to rapid charging technology. While a full-sized adapter is necessary for optimal performance, the laptop can function on a smaller Type-C adapter or even a portable USB power pack for everyday use.

The innovative 180° ErgoLift hinge opens up additional possibilities as well. When the lid opens, this hinge lifts the back of the laptop, putting the keyboard at a more comfortable typing position and giving the cooling vents more room to draw in air. The hinge may be rotated back until the M16 is flat, allowing users to put the screen at their preferred angle and increasing portability.

Studio-quality audio

The six-speaker system of the Zephyrus M16 with Dolby Atmos brings games, movies, and music to life. Crisp highs and clear bass are produced by two tweeters working in tandem with dual force-canceling woofers. Each woofer is made up of two slightly offset speakers so that their vibrations cancel each other out, reducing unwanted resonance. Advanced Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation removes undesirable sounds from both input and output audio to improve voice chat. It can be used on any device and even adjusted per-app, allowing users to restrict noise-canceling to chat apps while unaffected in-game sounds.

Comprehensive connectivity

Gaming, artistic pursuits, and everyday computing are all made easier with flexible inputs. The Thunderbolt 4 connector can run two 4K displays at 60Hz or a single 8K monitor at the same time, and it provides lightning-fast access to media and other data stored on external storage. This connector can also be used to charge the laptop and other devices, including Type-C USB devices.

An integrated webcam and fingerprint sensor make signing in and staying in touch a breeze. Traditional cameras either utilise 2DNR technology to correct noise in individual frames or 3DNR technology to increase fidelity with moving objects by analysing frames in succession. The Zephyrus M16 uses a combination of 2DNR and 3DNR technologies to ensure that users appear their best in every setting, even low-light situations. A particularly flawless Windows Hello experience is provided by the fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button. When the user turns on the laptop, it stores the user’s fingerprint for a brief period of time before automatically logging in with the correct account.
