Rubrik Expands Cyber Protection for AWS Cloud Data

Rubrik, Inc. has announced the expansion of its cyber protection capabilities for cloud data hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to enhance customers’ confidence and reduce the risk of downtime. This expansion is designed to accelerate cyber resilience by speeding up the identification of hidden threats and shortening recovery times. A key part of this expansion is Rubrik Cloud Vault (RCV), an isolated, air-gapped, and immutable backup repository fully managed by Rubrik. Additionally, the company is introducing expanded features for AWS, including Anomaly Detection, Threat Monitoring, Threat Hunting, and Data Discovery & Classification.

Rubrik Cloud Vault on AWS offers an air-gapped, immutable data protection solution designed to shield backup data from cyberattacks. Businesses often rely on isolated data vaults to protect backup data, but managing these environments can be complex and prone to errors. Rubrik Cloud Vault simplifies this process by providing a fully managed, off-site archive that offers immutable data protection and ensures a clean recovery point.

Rubrik’s expanded capabilities for AWS customers also include enhanced security features that provide deeper insights into cyber threats and sensitive data. These new features, including Anomaly Detection, allow businesses to detect deletions, modifications, and encryptions using machine learning for faster ransomware investigation and recovery. Threat Monitoring automatically analyzes backup snapshots for threats, reducing the risk of reinfection during recovery. Threat Hunting analyzes data history to identify the origin and scope of infections, ensuring recovery from verified, clean points. Data Discovery & Classification helps organizations locate sensitive data in files and applications, aiding in compliance and reducing the risk of data exposure.

Anomaly Detection is available to all AWS customers, while other features such as Threat Hunting, Threat Monitoring, Data Discovery & Classification, and Rubrik Cloud Vault will be available in early 2025. Rubrik will showcase these innovations at AWS re:Invent 2024 in Las Vegas.
