Samsung Gulf Electronics and etisalat by e& have teamed up with Emirates Nature-WWF in the UAE to promote sustainability and ecological restoration. This partnership involves Samsung contributing a portion of the sales proceeds from their latest Galaxy devices available on Samsung.com and etisalat by e& channels to support Emirates Nature-WWF’s local conservation projects in the UAE. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of Samsung and Etisalat by e& to environmental protection and sustainability.

Samsung’s dedication to sustainability extends beyond their products to the materials used in their devices. They incorporate recycled materials, such as plastics from discarded fishing nets, water barrels, and PET bottles, to create Galaxy devices that not only offer top-notch performance but also contribute to environmental preservation.

Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, emphasized the importance of these sustainability efforts and how they align with the “Galaxy for Planet” vision. Customers in the UAE have the opportunity to support local conservation initiatives while acquiring the latest Galaxy devices, which is particularly significant in the lead-up to the highly anticipated COP28.

Khaled El Khouly, Chief Consumer Office at etisalat by e&, expressed their commitment to a sustainable future and their goal of combatting climate change. He emphasized that with every device sale, they are investing in the planet’s well-being, allowing customers to actively participate in environmental preservation while embracing innovation.

The campaign includes various Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy S23 Series, all designed for performance and durability with a focus on sustainability. They incorporate recycled materials, pre-consumer recycled glass and aluminum, and post-consumer recycled plastics, showcasing Samsung’s dedication to environmental responsibility.

Mansour Al Ketbi, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Emirates Nature-WWF, expressed his excitement about this partnership, highlighting how customers across the UAE can support local conservation efforts by purchasing Samsung products. He also stressed the importance of businesses and organizations in the UAE recognizing their reliance on the marine environment in the Arabian Gulf and the need to scale up investments in climate change adaptation measures.

Emirates Nature-WWF’s initiatives, particularly Nature-based Solutions (NbS), align with the UAE’s focus on climate and nature. Through a science-based holistic approach, Emirates Nature-WWF collaborates with various sectors to implement NbS projects that support their mission.
