Samsung Electronics has introduced its latest gaming innovation, the Odyssey 3D, featuring glasses-free 3D viewing, at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany. As the world’s largest gaming exhibition, Gamescom 2024, held from August 21 to 25, showcases over 1,400 exhibitors, and Samsung’s booth is the largest and most immersive, spanning 800m².
The Odyssey 3D utilizes light field display (LFD) technology, Eye Tracking, and View Mapping to deliver a lifelike 3D experience without the need for glasses. Available in 27” and 37” sizes, it boasts 4K resolution, a 1ms GTG response time, and a 165Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth gameplay. The monitor also features an ergonomic design, FreeSync Premium, and multiple connectivity options. The Odyssey 3D was honored with the Best of Innovation award at CES 2024.
At Gamescom 2024, attendees can experience Samsung’s entire Odyssey lineup, including the Odyssey OLED G8 and G6, and the Odyssey Neo G9, paired with popular games like KRAFTON’s inZOI, HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact, and Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft: The War Within.
Samsung also expanded its Odyssey OLED lineup with new models, including the G95SD, G93SD, and G85SD. These models offer ultra-wide screens, high refresh rates, and advanced features like OLED Safeguard and Glare Free technology, providing gamers with top-tier performance and visual quality.
Samsung continues to dominate the global gaming monitor market, holding the No. 1 position for five consecutive years, with a 20.6% global market share in Q1 2024, according to IDC data.
