SAP SE and Red Hat, Inc., a global provider of open-source solutions, announced an expanded partnership to significantly increase SAP’s use of and support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This collaboration aims to enhance intelligent business operations, support cloud transformation across industries and drive holistic IT innovation.
Building on their long-standing partnership, SAP is gradually transferring parts of its internal IT infrastructure and the SAP® Enterprise Cloud Services portfolio to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, a move made to better accommodate SAP’s changing business and IT requirements. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is becoming the preferred operating system for net new business for RISE with SAP solution deployments as part of SAP’s migration roadmap, which will increase support for the RISE with SAP solution.

To help SAP increase its use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat is providing dedicated product engineers and on-site support to assist SAP’s engineering and technical teams in standardizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and improving compatibility between SAP and Red Hat solutions. Through virtual and in-person Red Hat training courses, SAP staff can acquire vital technical skills and gain a deeper understanding of Red Hat’s hybrid cloud technologies via the Red Hat Learning Subscription Premium program, which includes hands-on labs.
By leveraging Red Hat’s scalable, flexible, open hybrid cloud infrastructure, this joint initiative to extend SAP software workloads on Red Hat Enterprise Linux aims to make it simpler for SAP customers to achieve greater business agility, accelerate cloud deployments, and foster business innovation. Based on the RISE with SAP solution supported by Red Hat Enterprise Linux, customers may now more easily streamline cloud transformation initiatives based on SAP software, including SAP S/4HANA.
