At Zoom’s annual partner and customer event, Zoomtopia 2024, ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) and Zoom (NASDAQ: ZM) unveiled an expanded strategic alliance aimed at ushering in a new era of intelligence through smarter collaboration and peak productivity across the enterprise. The two companies announced that their generative AI (GenAI) technologies, ServiceNow Now Assist and Zoom AI Companion, will integrate in the first half of 2025, offering organizations advanced workflow automation for tasks and activities across both platforms.

As demand for AI tools that enhance productivity and streamline critical business processes continues to grow, a recent Gartner® report highlights that “92% of employees say they want AI to help them with administrative tasks and summarize information on a particular topic.” The new integration between ServiceNow and Zoom aims to address this need by significantly shortening and streamlining these processes.

“CEOs are transitioning from AI fascination to AI-led business strategies for exponential improvements in how their companies run,” stated Bill McDermott, chairman and CEO of ServiceNow. “ServiceNow and Zoom share a goal to supercharge teamwork. Our new integration transitions from conversation to immediate action, saving time and freeing up resources so employees can focus on the work that matters most.”

Eric S. Yuan, founder and CEO of Zoom, added, “Through our enhanced collaboration with ServiceNow, we continue to deliver seamless interactions across both platforms with GenAI capabilities and embedded user interfaces. Integrating Zoom AI Companion with ServiceNow elevates productivity, enabling customers to transition effortlessly from meetings to actionable tasks, reducing administrative time and streamlining workflows.”

The integration of these two generative AI tools promises to create a more intuitive experience, facilitating seamless information flow during collaboration. For instance, during a virtual meeting, the Zoom AI Companion will summarize and transcribe discussions— with permission— and convert action items into tasks linked to ServiceNow workflows.

Post-meeting, the AI Companion will collaborate with Now Assist for Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), ServiceNow’s GenAI-enabled solution, to trigger the necessary workflows. This will assist teams in taking next steps, such as automatically creating tickets and assigning them to relevant team members. Attendees will receive email notifications containing insights from the meeting, along with an auto-generated summary of post-meeting deliverables.

This announcement builds on the existing partnership between ServiceNow and Zoom, further enhancing their integrations. With this collaboration, the companies aim to transform unstructured conversations into structured data, seamlessly connected to intelligent workflows, thereby boosting overall efficiency and productivity in the workplace.
