ServiceNow has introduced ServiceNow.org, an initiative aimed at digitally transforming non-profit organizations to enhance their impact. By leveraging the Now Platform®, ServiceNow.org enables non-profits to streamline operations, improve experiences, and effectively manage resources in pursuit of their missions.
The launch of ServiceNow.org comes at a crucial time for the non-profit sector. In response to an uncertain macro environment, 54% of non-profits are prioritizing operational efficiencies to safeguard their organizations and sustain their missions, as stated by advisory firm BDO. Digital transformation has become essential for non-profits, as they are consistently required to accomplish more with limited resources. By implementing appropriate technology, non-profits can enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability, ensuring that resources are allocated where they are most needed.
Vanessa Smith, the president of ServiceNow.org, highlighted the significance of the initiative and emphasized its alignment with the company’s overall mission. She stated that ServiceNow.org builds upon the existing work already being done for non-profits worldwide, allowing organizations of all types to leverage technology in solving their most pressing challenges. Through ServiceNow.org, non-profits can utilize technology to drive greater impact for their employees, volunteers, supporters, communities, and beneficiaries.
Although many non-profit organizations already utilize the Now Platform, ServiceNow.org stands out as a dedicated initiative specifically focused on assisting non-profits. It offers support for various areas, including disaster deployment, refugee resettlement, volunteer and member management, and research trials. By integrating their entire organization with the Now Platform, non-profits gain the ability to modernize their operations, optimize productivity, reduce costs, and enhance resilience.
A noteworthy example of ServiceNow’s partnership with other organizations is their collaboration with British Telecom (BT), the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC), and Thirdera (formerly SilverStorm Solutions). Together, they developed a regional call center for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to provide prompt assistance to displaced Ukrainians across Europe. ServiceNow’s customer service management system captures and processes call flow data, ensuring faster support for refugees.
Similar to the for-profit sector, non-profit organizations also require automation of manual work processes to tackle complex global challenges. By utilizing a unified technology platform across their entire organization, non-profits can achieve specific outcomes that streamline their work, improve operations and experiences, and allocate resources more effectively.
ServiceNow.org offers assistance in technology experience, employee experience, customer experience, and low-code app development, enabling non-profits to harness data with transparency, actionable insights, and security. Additionally, through its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) program, ServiceNow extends in-kind partnerships to non-profits, furthering their missions. An example of such a partnership is with Ndlovu Care Group, a non-profit organization focused on improving healthcare, youth development, water supply, and infrastructure in Northeastern South Africa. ServiceNow, along with partners FlyForm and Mediro, helped develop an app for Ndlovu’s Nutritional Unit program, facilitating monitoring, evaluation, and management of health projects.
