H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has granted permission to the University of Sharjah (UoS) to introduce a hybrid education model for specific cases. This approach accommodates working students who face challenges attending in-person classes regularly. The Ruler also underscored the importance of learning and valuing the Arabic language.

During a phone interview on Sharjah Radio and Television’s “Direct Line” program, H.H. Sheikh Sultan expressed empathy for working students who struggle with consistent attendance and announced the implementation of a hybrid education system at the University of Sharjah. This system combines in-person and remote learning, requiring students to attend the university one day a week for each course instead of the conventional three days. The remaining two days will involve online learning. This approach will be adopted only in specific instances where a student’s circumstances warrant it, particularly for those who cannot take time off work.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan’s decision was prompted by a call from “Umm Saud,” who highlighted her challenges attending lectures due to work commitments. The Ruler emphasized the significance of the Arabic language, urging people to recognize its value and invest in learning it diligently. He shared his personal commitment to the language and its deep-rooted importance.
