Sheikh Hamdan Chairs Inaugural Smart Systems Council Meeting

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, chaired the inaugural meeting of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council at Qasr Al Watan. The meeting, which took place on [Insert Date], focused on advancing the emirate’s technological transformation and enhancing national competitiveness in line with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology.

Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the council members and highlighted their mission to foster a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy. The discussion centered on creating a robust strategy to establish the infrastructure needed for smart systems and revising the legislative framework to support the expansion of smart autonomous systems across land, sea, and air.

Key points included updates on the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster, which aims to position the emirate as a leader in transportation technologies. The SAVI cluster is projected to contribute AED 90 billion to AED 120 billion to the GDP through the design, manufacture, and testing of smart and autonomous vehicles, along with providing logistical support for smart mobility solutions.

– His Excellency Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri

– His Excellency Badr Saleem Sultan Al-Olama, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office

The council’s focus on smart and autonomous systems aligns with its commitment to sustainable and innovative technology solutions, aiming to significantly enhance the emirate’s research and development ecosystem and contribute to economic growth.
