H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, has launched the world’s largest AI prompt engineering training initiative, ‘One Million Prompters.’ This groundbreaking program, announced by Sheikh Hamdan, aims to upskill one million individuals in prompt engineering over the next three years.
“With this global initiative, overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), we aim to equip individuals with the skills needed to harness AI applications for innovation and economic growth,” said Sheikh Hamdan. He emphasized that adapting to technology trends is crucial for the success of governments and societies.
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the rapid technological advancements and the need for new skills in the labor market, stating, “Coding was once in demand, but today, prompt engineering has become one of the most promising skills.”
The ‘One Million Prompters’ initiative aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, focusing on accelerating AI adoption. This first-of-its-kind program will develop expertise in crafting precise AI instructions for diverse applications, from creative content generation to complex problem-solving.
The initiative includes extensive training programs offering accredited certifications, competitions, and a platform for networking with tech experts. Sheikh Hamdan announced the initiative at the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, the world’s largest AI prompt engineering challenge, which concluded with winners in Coding, Literature, and Art categories.
Sheikh Hamdan also directed the expansion of the championship’s second edition to include more categories such as software and videos. The event featured prominent attendees, including Minister of State for AI Omar Sultan Al Olama and Dubai Culture Director General Hala Badri.
The championship drew thousands of entries from around 100 countries, with 30 finalists competing at the Museum of the Future. The event included workshops in collaboration with major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and IBM, enhancing its global reach and impact.
