SolarWinds (NYSE: SWI), an observability and IT management software company, has announced the launch of its next-generation SolarWinds® Observability, now available in both self-hosted and SaaS options. With over 25 years of experience in network and infrastructure monitoring, SolarWinds is enhancing its capabilities to deliver exceptional value and flexibility for customers managing complex hybrid IT environments.

This new generation of SolarWinds Observability aims to address the visibility gaps highlighted by IT practitioners globally. Cullen Childress, SVP of Product at SolarWinds, stated, “This next generation of SolarWinds Observability closes the hybrid visibility gaps we’ve heard voiced by IT practitioners and leaders around the world.”

Research from GigaOm® reveals that many organizations struggle with visibility and management in complex hybrid IT environments. According to their findings, 85% of surveyed IT professionals cited application complexity and volume as significant operational challenges. Moreover, Flexera® found that 73% of organizations are now utilizing hybrid cloud architectures, and Gartner® predicts that by 2027, 50% of critical enterprise applications will reside outside centralized public cloud locations.

Current monitoring solutions typically focus on either on-premises or cloud environments, forcing organizations to compromise. SolarWinds aims to bridge this gap by providing customers with the choice to monitor their infrastructures in a manner that suits their specific needs. “SolarWinds meets customers where they are in their hybrid IT journey so they can explore and adopt our offerings confidently,” said Krishna Sai, SVP of Technology and Engineering at SolarWinds.

Key enhancements in SolarWinds Observability include:

– Broader On-Premises Infrastructure Monitoring: Customers can now monitor critical server components, such as bandwidth and availability, while also identifying when server resources reach warning thresholds.

– Expanded Cloud Infrastructure Observability: The solution now supports extensive AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes observability capabilities for comprehensive cloud services and containerized infrastructure monitoring.

– Comprehensive Network Performance Analysis: Enhanced scanning and mapping features provide critical performance metrics to help detect and remediate issues early.

– Increased Device Coverage: Support for more SD-WAN solutions and expanded device support for the Vulnerability and Risk Dashboard, leading to a lower total cost of ownership.

– Built-In Intelligence and AI/ML Capabilities: Improved anomaly-based alerts and AI-assisted IT Service Management (ITSM) features help accelerate incident management and enhance operational efficiency.

SolarWinds also introduced a new Universal Database License, allowing customers to access both Database Performance Analyzer and SQL Sentry® under a single license, providing flexibility for varied database environments.

These solutions have already shown promising results, with L&F Distributors reporting a 60-80% reduction in issue resolution time and Silverback Systems eliminating 75% of IT issues by consolidating their tools and enhancing visibility into their infrastructure.
