Mr. Ibrahim A Al-Omar, Director General (DG) of Saudia Airline, and Mr. Patrice Caine, Chief Executive Officer of Thales Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) on the opening day of the Dubai Airshow 2021.
“Our combined company can now deliver technologies and capabilities to benefit our customers like never before. We are looking forward to highlighting critical defensive capabilities such as our early warning radar, solutions to counter the growing threat of unmanned aircraft systems, and GhostEye, the lower-tier air, and missile defense radar advancing through development for the US Army,” said Alan Davis.
The students visited with space scientists from the UAE Space Agency and learned about Azure Space, a Microsoft platform that extends intelligent cloud from its earthly home to stars. Students also had opportunity to meet with Microsoft career advisors and IT professionals, who helped them develop softer skills such as teamwork and other interpersonal skills in addition to technical abilities.
His Excellency Nicola Lener, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE said, “Over the last 5 years, the international community has relied heavily on Italy’s expertise and experience in aeronautics, space, naval and land defence resulting in continuous increase in turnover (from Euro 15.5 billion to Euro 17 billion over the last 2 years) and innovation”.
