Metaverse was part of GMIS Week, which took place at Expo 2020’s Dubai Exhibition Centre from November 22 to 27. It was hosted by the Global Esports Federation [GEF].

HE Al Jaber says: “The first three industrial revolutions contributed to strengthening global GDP. They also helped increase average life expectancy and multiplied average global income 15 times. We are currently witnessing the dawn of the Fourth Industrial Era, as 4IR technologies begin to advance the industrial sector and enhance its contribution to driving global growth and prosperity.”

The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), a joint initiative of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), has announced aerospace multinational Thales as an industry partner.

The Virtual Summit is taking place when the pandemic has placed the global economy under severe strain. GMIS aims to place manufacturing at the heart of economic regeneration and government policymaking, and to be a tool for global cooperation and collaboration. A virtual edition of the Summit is scheduled to take place on September 4-5, 2020.
