Tenable appoints Brian Goldfarb as Chief Marketing Officer

Tenable has named Brian Goldfarb as its new chief marketing officer (CMO). Tenable’s worldwide marketing team will be led by Goldfarb, who will help the firm prepare for its next phase of growth in all areas of its portfolio, particularly cloud security, risk analytics, OT, and identity.

“Brian has a history of developing marketing strategies that drive extraordinary growth and widespread brand awareness,” said Amit Yoran, chairman and chief executive officer, Tenable.

He added, “His experience will be critical as Tenable continues to aggressively differentiate its core VM capabilities while bringing new products to market in some of the most exciting segments of the security space, especially cloud and infrastructure as code (IaC).”

Goldfarb is a well-known industry veteran who has worked with some of the world’s most influential category-defining businesses, including Splunk, Salesforce, Google, and Microsoft. He comes to Tenable from Amperity, the leading enterprise customer data platform in the world. Chef Software, which was sold to Progress Software, had Goldfarb as its CMO and senior vice president of business development. He steered Splunk through a major digital marketing shift while acting as chief marketing officer during pivotal years in the company’s development. Prior to joining Splunk, he was the senior vice president of marketing at Salesforce, where he oversaw a worldwide marketing team that generated over $1 billion in revenue. He earlier served as head of marketing of Google Cloud Platform and spent nearly 10 years at Microsoft.
