TerraMaster, a professional brand that specializes in providing innovative storage products for homes, businesses, and enterprises, announces the global release of the new TOS 5 operating system on June 13, 2022.
In comparison to TOS 4, TerraMaster TOS 5 includes over 100 new functions that provide significant improvements and tighter data storage security. Some of the new data protection features include WORM file system support, Security Isolation Mode, and OTP Authorization.
TOS 5 characteristics Support for the WORM File System, a one-of-a-kind data protection function that provides the ultimate defense against cyberattacks and accidental data deletion or modification. Data can only be written once in this file system format and is immune to malicious attacks, deletion, or tampering. This function can keep data safe for up to 70 years, making it an ideal solution for financial, judicial, medical, and scientific research records.
Through network isolation, digital signature, and file format restriction, the TerraMaster NAS running on TOS 5 can completely isolate itself from the external network – a very effective tool against unexpected virus and ransomware attacks.
TOS 5 allows users to enable One-Time Password (OTP) Authorization, which adds another layer of security to your TNAS. OTP is generated at random by the TNAS Mobile App and will be used for login verification.
TerraMaster RAID (TRAID) provides flexible disk array configuration, flexible online migration, capacity expansion, and redundancy policies by optimizing the traditional RAID mode. TRAID also improves disk space utilization and provides storage space changes caused by new business requirements with solutions and security protection.
Backup solutions in TOS 5 have been simplified and can now be found in a single backup portal. Central Backup, TerraSync, Duple Backup, Snapshot, USB Copy, CloudSync, and other backup solutions are available.
Centralized proactive backup is a business-oriented solution that allows for backup and restoration of multiple device types within a single large network. Data managers can use TOS 5 to centralize backup data from computers, servers, virtual machines, and other devices in a single TNAS.
CloudSync, which is new to TOS 5, integrates and syncs multiple cloud drives into a single application. Google Drive, One Drive, Amazon S3, Backblaze, Box, Dropbox, Koofr, OpenDrive, pCloud, Yandex disk, and Aliyun are among the cloud services supported.
TerraSync, which is also new to TOS 5, is a synchronization tool that allows data synchronization between multiple users and devices. It enables efficient data synchronization across multiple platforms and devices, enhancing collaborative work.
