Cisco has announced a strategic collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to drive the adoption and development of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies within the UAE’s manufacturing sector. This partnership aims to enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability, aligning with the national vision outlined in the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, Operation 300bn.

As part of the Champions Network, this initiative focuses on accelerating the UAE’s digital transformation and fostering the adoption of Industry 4.0 solutions. Cisco, a key member of MoIAT’s Champions Network, works alongside other pioneering national industrial companies that have already integrated I4.0 technologies into their operations. Together, the network aims to boost the UAE’s industrial competitiveness by reducing costs, increasing productivity, and enhancing quality and safety standards.

His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, emphasized the importance of strengthening local industrial companies’ capabilities to align with the national strategy. “This initiative will enhance industrial efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness, while supporting supply chain resilience. It also aims to attract advanced industrial investments, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global industrial hub and a destination for future industries,” he said.

Abdelilah Nejjari, Managing Director of Cisco Gulf & Levant Region, expressed pride in collaborating on the initiative through Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration program. “By providing data-driven solutions, we aim to help UAE businesses increase their competitiveness and productivity, ensuring their contribution to global value chains,” Nejjari noted.

As part of the partnership, Cisco has implemented its Real-Time Location Services (RTLS) solution, powered by IoT technology, in a leading UAE-based manufacturing facility. This solution has significantly enhanced operational efficiency, enabling real-time facility mapping, asset monitoring, process digitization, and compliance management. The success of this pilot project sets a benchmark for innovation in the UAE’s industrial sector and is expected to benefit other SME factories across the nation.

This collaboration marks a major step toward the UAE’s vision of a digitally transformed, resilient, and globally competitive industrial sector.
