UAE retail investors are taking advantage of recent price dips in the artificial intelligence sector, significantly increasing their exposure to AI and blockchain stocks, as reported by the trading and investing platform eToro. In its latest analysis, eToro found that UAE investors were especially active in buying AI stocks following market corrections, with CrowdStrike Holdings seeing the highest uptick in holders, rising by 131%. This surge came after CrowdStrike’s software update caused a computer outage, leading to a notable price drop that investors viewed as a buying opportunity. Other key players in the AI ecosystem, such as NVIDIA, Intel, Snowflake, Micron Technology, Advanced Micro Devices, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, also experienced substantial gains in UAE investor interest.

Additionally, blockchain stocks have grown in popularity, with Marathon Digital Holdings—a leading cryptocurrency mining company—attracting an 82% increase in UAE retail investors. The trend underscores the UAE’s forward-looking investment mindset, with investors aligning portfolios toward sectors anticipated to shape the future of technology.

Jason Hughes, Senior Executive Officer at eToro, noted that UAE investors are increasingly focused on industries like AI and blockchain for their transformative potential. Hughes highlighted that the recent price correction in AI stocks presented a prime buying opportunity, especially for companies such as CrowdStrike and Intel, which investors regard as having strong long-term potential despite temporary setbacks. He added that the rising interest in blockchain reflects an awareness of its capabilities, particularly in decentralized finance, indicating that UAE investors are strategically tapping into global technology trends with strong growth prospects.

Big Tech companies remain the foundation of UAE portfolios, with firms such as NVIDIA, Tesla, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Alphabet consistently topping the list of most-held stocks among UAE investors on eToro. These tech giants provide stability and growth potential, making them reliable portfolio choices. Hughes pointed out that the enduring appeal of these market leaders illustrates investor confidence in Big Tech’s ability to deliver robust returns over time, even as interest grows in emerging sectors like AI and blockchain.
