A recent survey conducted by Researchscape International, commissioned by global tech company Yango, has unveiled compelling insights into consumer preferences regarding smart assistants in the UAE. According to the findings, an overwhelming 92% of respondents expressed a strong desire for AI assistants specifically designed for the Middle East.
Key highlights from the survey include:
– Cultural and Linguistic Preferences: 63% of respondents emphasized the importance of having AI assistants fluent in Khaleeji Arabic, reflecting a need for culturally tailored interactions.
– Yasmina: A Cultural Bridge: Yango, in response to these preferences, is set to introduce Yasmina, a sophisticated AI assistant fluent in both Khaleeji Arabic and English. Yasmina will cater to local needs by offering features such as providing Hijri calendar dates and playing Surahs from the Quran.
Samer Mohamad, Yasmina Regional Director for MENA at Yango, emphasized the significance of cultural understanding in AI development, stating, “At Yango, we aim to create a human-like AI assistant that deeply resonates with local cultures. Yasmina goes beyond basic functions to enhance user experience with features deeply rooted in Middle Eastern cultural norms.”
The survey further revealed that a majority of respondents prioritize AI assistants for tasks ranging from information retrieval and daily scheduling to managing smart home devices and providing entertainment recommendations. Yasmina, integrated within Yango Play, promises to enrich user interactions through personalized music suggestions and engaging conversational capabilities.
With these insights, Yango aims to set a new standard in AI technology, bridging cultural gaps and enhancing everyday life experiences for UAE consumers.
