UAE Unifies Electronic Parking Permits for People of Determination

The UAE has launched a unified electronic linkage system to streamline the approval process for parking permits for People of Determination across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Community Development, is in collaboration with several key entities, including the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO), Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, the Integrated Transport Centre, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai. This project underscores the UAE’s commitment to digital transformation and sustainability, enhancing accessibility and quality of life for People of Determination.

The new system allows individuals with disabilities to use designated parking spaces in both emirates without the need for paper permits, promoting seamless mobility and independence. The initiative applies to all People of Determination with valid parking permits from any emirate, further integrating them into public life.

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, highlighted this development as a significant step towards improving services for People of Determination, thanking the partners involved for their contributions. Brigadier Engineer Tareq Matar Al Hassani of Abu Dhabi Police emphasized their support for the initiative, which aligns with their strategic goals of ensuring happiness and quality of life for all community members.

Dubai Police’s Brigadier Jumaa bin Suwaidan echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of integrating government services across Abu Dhabi and Dubai to enhance the lives of People of Determination. Similarly, Hussain Al Banna of the RTA reaffirmed their commitment to using the latest technologies to provide flexible and accessible services that cater to the needs of this vital segment of society.

The unified electronic linkage system represents a significant milestone in the UAE’s digital transformation journey, reflecting the nation’s dedication to innovative government services that prioritize the well-being and dignity of all its residents.
