Veeam® Software, a Data Resilience company, announced significant upgrades to its Veeam Data Cloud Vault service. This fully managed, secure cloud-based storage solution, powered by Microsoft Azure, offers organizations an efficient way to store backups of mission-critical data and applications, supporting robust business resilience. Veeam’s latest release, developed alongside Microsoft, introduces two new editions with transparent, all-inclusive pricing to resolve common cost-related challenges associated with customer-managed cloud storage. Moreover, integration with Veeam Data Platform simplifies offsite, immutable backups for Veeam users, with Veeam Data Cloud Vault set to be showcased at Microsoft Ignite from November 19-22 in Chicago.

Although cloud storage offers benefits like enhanced security and scalability, many organizations still struggle with challenges around cost forecasting, efficiency, and management expertise. Veeam Data Cloud Vault, developed in close collaboration with Microsoft and integrated with Azure Blob Cool Storage, addresses these issues. This new solution enables simplified, secure storage management by providing a Veeam-managed, logically air-gapped, always-immutable, and encrypted offsite backup, ensuring safe and reliable recovery when needed. Veeam Data Cloud Vault also helps minimize downtime through rapid restoration to on-premises and Azure VMs.

“Data resilience is vital in today’s digital landscape, especially as threats like cyber-attacks rise,” said Niraj Tolia, Chief Technology Officer at Veeam. “Veeam Data Cloud Vault provides hassle-free, secure cloud storage with predictable pricing, strengthening our partnership with Microsoft and our commitment to secure, accessible backups. This release introduces cost-effective, predictable storage pricing for Veeam users, with two new editions that highlight the power and scale of Microsoft Azure.”

Aung Oo, Vice President of Azure Storage at Microsoft, noted, “Veeam Data Cloud Vault on Azure enhances data protection, offering customers an accessible, secure solution against rising threats. The collaboration integrates Veeam’s BCDR strengths with Azure’s secure infrastructure, providing a comprehensive anti-ransomware solution.”

Veeam Data Cloud Vault also follows the Zero Trust Data Resilience (ZDTR) framework, aligning with the 3-2-1-1-0 rule to defend against cyberthreats, ensuring the integrity and availability of backups. Key benefits include:

– Security and Durability: Veeam Data Cloud Vault’s storage-as-a-service ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability with Zero Trust architecture, offering up to 12 nines of durability against data center failures.

– Predictable Pricing: With flat, per-terabyte pricing across two editions, customers benefit from clear cost management for secure cloud-based storage.

– Ease of Use: Integrated with Veeam Data Platform, the service offers pre-configured, fully managed cloud storage, reducing skills gaps and simplifying monitoring and provisioning.

Russ Fellows, Head of Labs at The Futurum Group, emphasized the service’s value, stating, “Veeam’s Data Cloud Vault strengthens security and offers simple, consumption-based pricing, an ideal solution for businesses of all sizes.”

Starting at $14 per TB, the new editions of Veeam Data Cloud Vault—Foundation and Advanced—offer an affordable, secure alternative for cloud-based storage backup.
