Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions company, has launched the Vertiv™ PowerUPS 9000, a high-efficiency uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system designed to support IT and AI applications. Available globally in UL and CE models, ranging from 250 to 1250kW per unit, the Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 offers exceptional performance with a compact design, delivering high power density and double-conversion efficiency of up to 97.5%.
The Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 is engineered for flexibility and ease of installation, featuring top or bottom cable entry options, as well as embedded backfeed protection and ground fault kits, which eliminate the need for additional space or on-site installation. Its modular design ensures fast and straightforward deployment, reducing procurement inconsistencies and potential service delays across different regions.
With a footprint 32% smaller than previous generations, the Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 is designed to maximize energy efficiency while minimizing complexity. It is fully compatible with Vertiv™ EnergyCore lithium battery cabinets, as well as other battery technologies, including Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) and Nickel-Zinc. The system is built for reliability, with dedicated, segregated controls and dual, hot-swappable communication boards, allowing each power module to operate independently. In case of a fault, the affected module isolates itself, protecting the remaining modules and ensuring continuous operation.
The Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 also integrates with Vertiv™ Next Predict, a predictive maintenance solution that leverages AI and machine learning to monitor real-time equipment conditions and optimize performance. This technology ensures maximum equipment longevity and operational efficiency.
Vertiv engineers have subjected the Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 to rigorous Engineering Validation Tests (EVT) and Design Validation Tests (DVT) under extreme operational conditions to confirm its reliability and performance in real-world scenarios. The system has also passed additional environmental and structural tests, including seismic integrity and voltage surge simulations, to ensure it can withstand the most challenging conditions.
With its energy-efficient design, high power density, and global compatibility, the Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 is poised to meet the growing power protection needs of data centers, offering a reliable, scalable solution for both traditional and AI-driven IT environments.
