WETEX 2024: Cybersecurity and Digital Innovation on Display

The 26th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is set to showcase significant participation from companies specializing in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and information systems security. Held under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, WETEX 2024 will take place from October 1st to 3rd at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), WETEX continues to be a pivotal platform for presenting the latest advancements in global trends, particularly in sustainability, energy, and green technologies. The event also strengthens the UAE’s prominent position in cybersecurity, aligning with the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy. Notably, the UAE ranks fifth in the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) 2021, issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, highlighted the event’s role in fostering innovation in cybersecurity, stating, “WETEX supports the UAE’s efforts to secure digital infrastructure and protect against cybersecurity risks. The exhibition promotes safer digital transformation across various sectors, especially as smart and digital technologies become critical pillars in today’s economy.”

WETEX 2024 will spotlight cutting-edge technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI) governance, cyber risk prediction, and securing information networks. Key topics will include testing vulnerabilities in systems, improving incident response capabilities, and integrating cybersecurity into smart city designs.

– Hitachi Energy’s contributions to the UAE’s 2050 Net Zero Initiative

– SAP’s AI-driven solutions such as the Green Ledger

– Hayat Communications’ collaboration with DEWA to enhance digital infrastructure and renewable energy

– Avanceon’s data-driven and AI-based solutions for the energy sector
