Reportedly, WhatsApp, a popular messaging app by Meta, is testing edit buttons for messages for its android users. The edit button would allow users to be able to correct any typos or errors on any messages that are already sent.
Whatsapp information site, wabetainfo.com, said in a blog “ users will be able to fix their typos after sending their messages. The feature is still under development but thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.14 update, we discovered that there is finally news about how messages are marked as edited within a conversation.”
The edited messages will have a label on them saying “Edited” showing which messages have been changed by the user. Users will get about 15 minutes to edit a message. If the recipient doesn’t turn on their smartphone within a specified amount of time, WhatsApp may not guarantee that your message will be updated, as happens with deleted messages for everyone (probably, a day or a little more).
Other updates have come in on WhatsApp Business where the new features come in a new linked device interface, track ads, and reorder collections. Almost all businesses that install the most current edition of WhatsApp business have access to these capabilities.
Groups on WhatsApp can now have up to 1,024 members. This feature will be made available to a restricted number of beta testers of the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS this week.
For view-once photos and videos, WhatsApp is enabling screenshot blocking for some beta testers. The feature is available to some beta testers who download the most recent beta from the Play Store.
