Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, operating as one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, recently organized a specialized workshop targeting aspiring Emirati app developers. The interactive event, titled ‘Essentials of Establishing a Business and Crafting a Successful Mobile Application,’ was carried out in collaboration with AstroLabs. This initiative aligns with the chamber’s endorsement of the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ campaign and the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
The workshop successfully drew over 50 young Emiratis, providing them with a platform to refine their app development skills and engage with prominent experts to exchange innovative ideas. This endeavor is part of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s commitment to actively contribute to the triumph of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative by fostering closer interactions with young Emirati developers and digital entrepreneurs. The goal is to empower them to actively contribute to the UAE’s digital aspirations.
The ‘Essentials of Establishing a Business and Crafting a Successful Mobile Application’ workshop furnished invaluable insights into launching a startup in Dubai while effectively harnessing cutting-edge technologies. The session furnished a tailored arena for discourse, hands-on mentorship, and knowledge exchange concerning the conception, construction, and presentation of mobile app prototypes to pivotal facilitators and investors.
An integral component of the workshop involved introducing participants to an innovative infographic guide spotlighting the advantages of revolutionary no-code platforms. This resource, a collaborative effort between Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Office, aims to dismantle entry barriers for those seeking careers in app development. By offering a comprehensive guide to no-code platforms—tools that enable individuals with no programming background to craft their own apps—the guide empowers young Emiratis to enter the realm of app creation and test their concepts before launch.
Unveiled in March of this year, the Create Apps in Dubai campaign was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The initiative centers on nurturing the capabilities of indigenous digital talents and envisions training a select cohort of 1,000 Emiratis in partnership with the private sector. This strategic partnership aims to triple the number of app creators in the emirate by 2025. Create Apps in Dubai also champions 100 novel national projects to develop pioneering apps, slated for release on digital app stores within the next two years.
Guided by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, Create Apps in Dubai endeavors to capitalize on emerging growth prospects within the sector. This involves erecting a robust digital infrastructure, formulating legislative frameworks conducive to app development, and introducing governmental incentives to expedite sectoral expansion, all in accordance with the chamber’s overarching strategic objectives.
