Reflecting the visionary directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to fortify Dubai’s status as a global pioneer in future-readiness, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has launched the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence. This strategic roadmap, tailored annually, is dedicated to leveraging the transformative potential of AI to enhance the quality of life for all.

Underlining Dubai’s unrivaled commitment to innovation, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized that this initiative aligns seamlessly with Sheikh Mohammed’s vision to position Dubai as a leading technological and innovative hub on the global stage. He highlighted the imperative of embracing AI technologies swiftly and effectively to navigate the evolving landscape of the digital era.

“In 1999, Dubai embarked on a pioneering journey into the future with its digital transformation, culminating in the unveiling of the Dubai Digital Strategy last year,” noted His Highness, underscoring the emirate’s remarkable strides in establishing itself as a magnet for technology and AI enterprises in the region.

Furthermore, His Highness stressed the urgency of adapting to the rapid evolution of AI, characterizing it as both an opportunity and a challenge for nations worldwide. Accordingly, he emphasized the need for agile action plans capable of keeping pace with the dynamic changes in technology and AI.

Dubai’s Universal Blueprint for AI is poised to catalyze the realization of Dubai’s economic agenda D33, aiming to inject an additional 100 billion dirhams into the emirate’s economy through digital transformation and bolster productivity by 50% through innovative digital solutions.

In the initial phase of this transformative plan, efforts will concentrate on appointing Chief Artificial Intelligence Officers in every government entity, launching AI and Web3 incubators, and instituting AI Week in educational institutions. Additionally, expedited procedures for data center land allocation and the introduction of a new commercial license for AI will further accelerate progress.

Highlighting the overarching objective, His Highness reaffirmed Dubai’s unwavering commitment to human well-being. He pledged annual reviews and updates to ensure alignment with evolving developments, underscoring Dubai’s steadfast dedication to becoming the world’s happiest society.

Dubai’s annual plan for AI adoption signifies a pivotal stride towards enhancing the emirate’s well-being, economic vitality, and technological prowess. By fostering an environment conducive to AI innovation and governance, Dubai is poised to emerge as a global beacon of progress and prosperity.
