Canon shared its key achievements of 2019, and vision for 2020 at their annual ‘Kick Off’ meeting. The meeting was complemented by a special visit of Canon’s EMEA President and CEO Yuichi Ishizuka, who underlined the company’s philosophy of kyosei, living and working together for the common good.
Learnings from the last year were explored alongside ways to boost performance across the Canon ‘ecosystem’ in 2020, with a ‘growth mindset’ and a ten-year vision for Canon Middle East to position itself as a ‘Lifetime Imaging Partner’ amongst its consumer and business audiences. Over the year, each quarter will focus on the pillars: culture, sustainability, innovation and ambition which will help to shape communication with employees and potential employees, customers, partners, media and the industry as well as the community, including women and youth.
Employees, customers, and the community will continue to be at the core of all company activities and will be reinforced as part of the workplace culture. Employees were recognised for their contributions across the team, highlighting the importance of collaboration in line with the ‘Together We Can’ strategy for 2020.
During the event, Canon Middle East further outlined its plans for Expo 2020 Dubai, the largest of its kind event to be staged in the Arab world, as it its official printing and imaging provider.
This is the first time Expo 2020 Dubai has one provider for both imaging and printing, giving Canon the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the event, and showcase its entire input to output portfolio. The partnership will further help people to reimagine and push the boundaries of what is possible through imaging. Anurag Agrawal, Managing Director – Canon Middle East, said: “While 2019 was a challenging year due to external factors, we recorded positive growth and are optimistic about the opportunities ahead. Canon strives to meet and exceed the needs of our customers across the region with the goal to become a lifetime imaging partner. We have a strong employee and customer focus as well as a responsible approach to sustainability, youth, women and the community. We will continue to focus on our customers and on core sectors including education, healthcare and governments in our key regional markets.”
