An Apple watch has again saved a man identified as Muhammad Fitri after being hit by a van on September 25. The man’s Apple Watch identified a hard fall late at night, and when he didn’t respond to the onerous fall alarms, it notified his emergency contacts as well as emergency services.

Following an accident that occurred in the street of Singapore in September this year, a 24-year-old biker was rushed to the hospital barely in time after his smartwatch signaled for assistance.

Fitri wore an Apple Watch Series 4 with a fall detection function that notifies the user’s emergency line and local emergency officials if they are unresponsive. The users can reply to the fall alert, and if they cannot do so, the watch will call for assistance.

The Apple Watch identified a heavy fall late at night, and when he did not reply to the stiff fall alerts, it contacted his emergency numbers as well as emergency personnel, who came to the scene and took him to the hospital.

The accident was reported to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Fitri was transferred to the nearest Hospital.

Apple watch is known to have saved a lot of lives during emergencies. In June 2021, a 78-year-old man from North Carolina in the United States became unconscious following a fall, and his Apple Watch identified his fall and immobility. After 60 seconds, it requested assistance.

A month later, a 25-year-old man was transported to the hospital after the fall detection feature on his Apple Watch noticed the fall and contacted emergency authorities. After CT scans indicated a cracked skull and several hematomas swelling in size, he underwent brain surgery.

Apple Watch Series 4 features a fall detection capability as part of a biometric monitoring package that includes heart health, blood oxygen levels, mobility, and fitness, among other things.
