The forthcoming Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS 2022) will mark a significant improvement over the previous international events that the monarchy has previously hosted.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is also the head of the supreme organising committee for BIAS 2022, added that the directives of HM the King and his forward-looking strategic vision have allowed the kingdom to achieve a wide range of achievements and successes in several different fields, including the hosting of significant international exhibitions in the fields of aviation, research, technology, and space (BNA).
He noted that BIAS 2022 will focus on four thematic areas:
He stated that the successful organisation of the event (BIAS 2022) is the outcome of the unwavering support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, of the kingdom of Bahrain. Shaik Abdulla also noted that the continuous follow-up by His Highness has boldened the confidence of many global aviation manufacturers and companies in Bahrain, boosting the nation’s economic growth and reaching forecast results and goals.
According to Kamal bin Ahmed Mohamed, president of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, minister of transportation and telecommunications, and Shaikh Abdulla, chief of military committees and commander of Sakhir Air Base, before the start of the international air show, it is crucial to maximising all potentials and capabilities
HH Shaikh Abdulla urged the committee members to provide the necessary facilities to all participants, guests and visitors to the exhibition to enhance the kingdom’s standing.
He commended the distinguished participation of brotherly and friendly countries in BIAS 2022, which, he affirmed, will contribute to its success.
HH Shaikh Abdulla emphasised the significance of drawing prestigious flying display teams to BIAS 2022, thanking and praising the Saudi Hawks team of the Royal Saudi Air Force and the UAE Air Force Al Fursan aerobatic display teams in addition to other teams competing in BIAS 2022, including the US Air Force, Global Stars, the Pakistan Air Force, and others.
Families and air enthusiasts are taken into consideration as special areas have been designated for them along with parking space near the entrance gate of Sakhir Air Base to facilitate visitors’ access to the entertainment area. Invitations have also been given to about 4000 students of government and private schools to benefit from the Air show event.
Shaikh Abdulla also ordered that children aged under 12 be exempted from entrance fees to the family zone, to encourage families to enjoy the atmosphere of the air shows.
The National Guard, the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry, the Information Affairs Ministry, the Finance and National Economy Ministry, the Tender Board, the National Communication Centre, the Economic Development Board, and EWA are just a few of the organisations that Shaikh Abdulla thanked and appreciated for their assistance in organising the event.
