The new QuietComfort 45 headphones from Bose replace the renowned QuietComfort 35 II with greater noise cancellation, new AWARE Mode to let the world back in, increased voice isolation for simpler conversations, and 24-hour battery life on a single charge. Amazing audio performance, all-day comfort and stability, super-simple controls, rock-solid connectivity, and an upgrade to the iconic style that made QCs one of the most identifiable wearables ever are all features of the QuietComfort 45.
“QuietComfort headphones are legendary for a reason,” said Mehul Trivedi, category director, Bose wearable audio.
He added, “What started as a product for traveling became a product that makes every day better and easier for millions of people all over the world. Our customers have told us for years that the balance of benefits makes QuietComfort so different and indispensable. They’ve always been a great example of excelling where it matters most. And the QC45s are no different.”
The QuietComfort 45 headphones have only two settings, both of which are achieved with the help of a revolutionary active noise cancellation mechanism and electronics package. In QUIET Mode, microphones inside and outside the earcups work together with a proprietary digital chip to detect, measure, and respond to more undesired mid-range frequencies, such as those prevalent in commuter trains, crowded offices, and cafés. The now-famous “whoosh” associated with Bose noise-canceling technology occurs in a fraction of a millisecond, allowing you to tune out completely or listen to music, podcasts, or movies with lifelike clarity detail, and no distractions. In AWARE Mode, QC45 headphones switch to full transparency, where everything is heard again – just as naturally, clearly, and quickly — without ever taking them off.
Owners of the QC45 can share their noise cancellation for phone calls and orders. A beam-form array isolates their speech, while a rejection array dampens and eliminates auditory disturbances around them, such as a coffee grinder or a barking dog, from being picked up and sent to whomever they’re speaking with. Friends, family, coworkers, and personal assistants will all be able to hear what’s being said, allowing for more efficient Zoom meetings, happier videochats, and more accurate VPA responses on anything from text dictation to receiving directions to operating a smart home.
The QC45 expands on its predecessor’s iconic design, retaining all of the design features that made it an instantly recognizable classic, as well as the comfort and stability that made it an all-day-everyday headphone. Soft materials have been free of pleats and puckers, and gaps between components have been replaced with seamless transitions. They’re also sturdy, lightweight, and fold flat to fit into a small carrying bag. Triple Black and White Smoke, both with a gorgeous matte texture, are classic QC45 colors. In the Bose noise canceling family, they join the QC Earbuds and Noise Cancelling Headphones 700.
The QuietComfort® 45 headphones are very functional, featuring easy-to-operate controls. On the right earcup, there are four buttons: volume up, volume down, power, and Bluetooth® pairing, as well as one for the most typical tasks: answering and terminating conversations, playing and pausing music, and accessing native VPAs. Another button on the left earcup allows you to switch between modes and silence the microphone during calls. The Bose Music app provides further setup and uses assistance, including multi-point Bluetooth® 5.1 connections for iOS and Android devices — as well as Bose SimpleSyncTM, which allows you to pair a QC45 with compatible Bose Soundbars for the ultimate private watch party.
The QC45 headphones have a battery life of up to 24 hours, which means they can withstand the world’s longest flights, 20 back-to-back conference meetings, or study all-nighters with plenty of time to spare. They now charge via USB-C®: a full charge takes two hours, and three hours of playback takes only 15 minutes.
