Prior to GITEX Global 2023, Cisco unveiled the UAE-specific findings from the Cisco State of Global Innovation Report 2023. The report indicated that an impressive 95% of CIOs, IT decision makers, and developers surveyed in the UAE perceive their organizations as innovative.
In terms of the most influential technological trends expected to impact businesses significantly, the study highlighted the opinions of UAE-based respondents. They identified generative AI (43%), next-generation networks (including 6G) (38%), and cybersecurity (38%) as the top technologies that will shape the business landscape in the UAE over the next five years.
Interestingly, while the global average of respondents expressing satisfaction with their technology investments stands at 57%, a higher percentage of 63% of UAE respondents expressed positivity. Furthermore, they intend to invest an average of 14% of their annual revenue in innovation projects over the next 12 months, surpassing the global average.
Under the theme “Experience the Power of AI to Shape the Future,” Cisco’s participation in GITEX GLOBAL 2023 aims to showcase its latest technologies. This serves as a demonstration of how innovation can accelerate digital transformation for businesses and help them navigate emerging technological shifts on a large scale.
Reem Asaad, Vice President of Cisco Middle East and Africa, noted, “Our study reveals that IT professionals in the UAE view generative AI as the technology most likely to have a significant impact on their businesses, with 92% feeling confident in their readiness for its impact.” She emphasized Cisco’s longstanding commitment to AI and its role in revolutionizing industries.

In addition to technological advancements, visitors will learn about Cisco’s contributions to supporting the UAE’s transition to a digital economy through the Cisco Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, which has been active in the country since 2018. The CDA program involves Cisco collaborating with national leadership, industry, and academia to invest in strategic programs aligned with national digitization agendas.
