Dell and Hugging Face Simplify On-Premises Generative AI

In a strategic alliance, Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) and Hugging Face are working together to simplify the process for enterprises to develop, refine, and deploy their custom open-source generative AI (GenAI) models. Leveraging the Hugging Face community, this collaboration integrates these capabilities seamlessly into Dell’s leading infrastructure products and services.

As part of this partnership, a dedicated Dell portal will be established on the Hugging Face platform. This portal aims to facilitate straightforward on-premises deployment of tailored large language models (LLM) using Dell’s renowned infrastructure technology portfolio. Within the Hugging Face Dell portal, users will find customized containers and scripts designed to assist in the secure deployment of open-source models available on Hugging Face using Dell servers and data storage systems. The portal will also regularly release updated containers, optimized for Dell infrastructure, to enhance performance and support new GenAI use cases and models.

Jeff Boudreau, Chief AI Officer at Dell Technologies, highlighted the advantages of this collaboration, stating, “Dell Technologies’ GenAI capabilities, combined with Hugging Face’s collection of datasets and libraries, offer users the freedom of open-source GenAI models with the peace of mind of on-premises data security and reliability.” Boudreau emphasized that this collaboration accelerates enterprise modernization by simplifying the deployment of custom GenAI models powered by Dell infrastructure.

Jeff Boudier, Head of Product and Growth at Hugging Face, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “We are incredibly excited to partner with Dell Technologies to make open-source AI easy to use for enterprises within their on-premises infrastructure.” Boudier emphasized that this collaboration empowers companies to harness the innovations of the open-source community while benefiting from the security, compliance, and performance offered by Dell systems.
