Dell Technologies has unveiled Dell PowerVault ME5, a collection of three new entry-level storage solutions designed and optimised for SAN and DAS applications.
The storage solution is designed to solve a wide range of small-to-medium-sized company (SMB) concerns, such as keeping up with data expansion, enhancing operational simplicity, enabling newer and higher-value applications, and delivering business outcomes much quicker. PowerVault ME5 does this using a contemporary software design that provides double the performance, throughput, capacity, and memory of its predecessor, PowerVault ME4.
To stay up with current applications and data expansion, many SMB customers, like their corporate counterparts, seek to streamline their IT processes, minimise risk, and install quicker and more scalable storage solutions. The new PowerVault ME5 arrays continue to be the most straightforward and cost-effective approach to satisfy their infrastructure needs and intended objectives. The design of PowerVault ME5 is well-suited to support a wide range of application workloads, including High Performance Computing File Systems with BeeGFS, PixStore, and NFS file systems, Safety and Security (CCTV at the Edge), Microsoft and VMware Virtualization, up to 500 Virtual Desktops, select Edge use cases (Oil and Gas Exploration and Cloud Gaming), and many more, without compromising performance or availability SLAs.
With its OEM-ready design, PowerVault ME5 is equally well suited for Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM). While PowerVault ME5 can be configured as an all-flash array, SMB customers will appreciate that PowerVault ME5 is an affordable hybrid storage option for any of these application environments that do not require the low latencies of all-flash and NVMe – but still require important availability, reliability, and security.
