Dell Technologies has unveiled the Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme, a redesigned tablet. This premium tablet is designed for professionals who work in harsh environments, delivering significant field performance and productivity.

The 7230 Rugged Extreme is the lightest 12″ fully rugged tablet on the market, and it was created for professionals in demanding roles that require critical reliability. Because of its durability and mobility, the tablet is a valuable tool for EMS and other first responders. It also has the dependability and security features that military and government officials require, such as the ability to safely manage highly sensitive information.

The 7230 Rugged Extreme weighs 1.27kg and is a powerful tablet with 12th Gen Intel® Core processors up to i7 and integrated Iris Xe graphics. The tablet’s 1200 nits of brightness and glove touch capability allow for direct sunlight viewing and optimal screen interactivity on a 16:10 aspect ratio display. It has the largest screen area in a 12″ fully rugged tablet, with 13% more active screen area than the previous generation.

Equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, the 7230 Rugged Extreme also enables faster and more efficient data sharing. The pre-installed Dell TPM 2.0 ControlVault™ also allows for new security features, including an Infrared Camera for Microsoft Windows Hello facial recognition, and optional features like a touch fingerprint reader, a removable SSD for sensitive data, and contacted or contactless smartcard reader.

There are also a number of new and improved accessories designed to complement the tablet’s ruggedness and support its use in a variety of environments. Among these accessories are a new detachable keyboard, an active pen to enhance screen interactivity, a rotating hand and shoulder strap made of durable and cleanable materials, a magnetic mount that allows users to attach the tablet to any metallic wall or surface, and a rigid handle that is reversible according to preference and ergonomics.

The 7230 Rugged Extreme tablet has been drop-tested and temperature-tested to withstand the most demanding conditions. Other tablet features include a longer battery life (up to 20 hours) and durability.
