DEWA and Dell Advance Sustainable Tech Talks

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, recently hosted a distinguished delegation from Dell Technologies, headed by John Byrne, President of Global Sales. The primary focus of the meeting was to deliberate potential collaborations, investigate innovative technological solutions, and exchange international best practices and experiences in the realms of innovation and disruptive technologies. The aim is to develop and offer futuristic digital solutions.

The delegation, which included Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President for Central Eastern Europe, Middle East, Turkiye, and Africa, and Walid Yehia, General Manager of Dell Technologies UAE, convened with key figures such as Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Digital DEWA, and Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub (Data Hub Integrated Solutions).

Al Tayer underscored the significance of collaboration between the government and private sectors, aligning with the guidance of wise leadership and working toward shared objectives. He emphasized DEWA’s commitment to adopting the latest technologies and best practices to provide digital solutions and services, contributing to Dubai’s vision of becoming a smart and sustainable city. This aligns with DEWA’s overarching goal of being a globally leading sustainable innovative corporation, dedicated to achieving Net-Zero by 2050.

The meeting, hosted at DEWA’s headquarters, delved into the importance of fortifying strategic partnerships between the entities and harnessing advanced technologies to propel sustainable development and digital transformation in the region. Discussions spanned various topics, including the role of technology in enhancing DEWA’s operations and services, exploring opportunities to leverage Dell Technologies’ expertise in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The overarching objective is to enhance DEWA’s digital infrastructure, deliver effective and reliable services, foster joint research and development initiatives, facilitate knowledge sharing, and implement innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of the energy and water sectors.

John Byrne, President of Sales at Dell Technologies, commended DEWA’s leadership in the energy and water sectors, particularly through innovative information technology applications.

DEWA’s collaboration with Dell Technologies through Moro Hub encompasses various areas such as the creation and development of cloud computing systems, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, storage, backup, and archive services. The partnership also extends to providing technical infrastructure for the public and private sectors, as well as service providers.
