Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has achieved a significant milestone by introducing its smart app on Apple Vision Pro glasses. This groundbreaking move marks DEWA as the first utility worldwide to offer its services through this innovative blend of augmented and virtual reality technologies.

Leveraging the advanced capabilities of Apple Vision Pro, DEWA aims to revolutionize customer service experiences. This initiative underscores DEWA’s commitment to fostering smart adoption and delivering services to its diverse customer base through a range of digital platforms.

Through the Apple Vision Pro platform, DEWA offers a plethora of services and functionalities. Users can seamlessly access the app via UAE Pass, traditional login credentials, or through eyeprint authentication. The app facilitates personalized interactions by enabling users to select their primary account and visualize data using intuitive touch and drag features.

Moreover, customers can effortlessly view and settle bills using Apple Pay, explore the Smart Living dashboard, and access comprehensive consumption reports, including annual, monthly, and daily insights compared to similar households through the My Sustainable Living Programme. The app also offers personalized consumption tips to enhance efficiency for each user.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the organization’s commitment to aligning with the visionary directives of UAE’s leadership, ensuring that government services are easily accessible and user-centric. Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s embrace of cutting-edge technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as generative AI and metaverse concepts, to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

DEWA’s relentless pursuit of technological advancement has yielded remarkable results, with digital transactions witnessing a significant surge. In 2023, customers conducted approximately 12.5 million digital transactions, reflecting a 25 percent increase compared to the previous year. These transactions encompassed a wide array of services, including over 2.1 million through DEWA’s website, over 3.2 million via the DEWA smart app, and more than 6.8 million through various digital channels established in collaboration with partners.

This impressive growth underscores DEWA’s pivotal role in advancing Dubai’s vision to become the world’s smartest and happiest city, as envisioned by the wise leadership.
