DHL has announced the launch of the Mobile Middle East and Africa Innovation Center in October 2021. The MEA Innovation Center is DHL’s fourth global innovation center, joining those in Chicago, Cologne, Germany, and Singapore, and the first entirely mobile one. The first stop will be in Dubai, in conjunction with Expo 2020 Dubai.
Ken Allen, CEO DHL eCommerce Solutions, said: “We are excited to bring the DHL Mobile MEA Innovation Center to Dubai, a city that epitomizes disruptive design thinking. We look forward to unveiling an inspiring journey into the future of logistics, and showcasing a realm of possibilities and the many benefits of digital transformation for people and the planet. The Innovation Center will act as a platform supporting research and collaborative innovation between DHL customers, start-ups, academia, industry partners, and innovation experts.”
The Mobile MEA Innovation Center will be the first-of-its-kind modular facility created off-site and brought to Dubai, staying true to its position as an innovation hub. The 450-square-meter temporary construction is designed to be constructed, deconstructed, and transferred to a new place, making it suitable for a variety of markets. The modular building was built in Germany and will be erected in Dubai by October 2021 — a genuine testament to ‘Innovation That Moves.’ Exhibition and trend lab space, as well as offices and meeting rooms, will be available within the centre.
Customers, partners, academia, and thought leaders will be able to experience the future generation of logistics in an interactive showroom setting at the DHL Mobile Middle East &Africa Innovation Center, which will be a state-of-the-art facility. The Mobile MEA Innovation Center is expected to lead the way in the future of logistics and drive customer-centric innovation throughout the Middle East and beyond, concentrating on important logistics innovation themes such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics.
The DHL Mobile MEA Innovation Center will travel throughout the Middle East and Africa until 2027. The facility is planned to remain in Dubai until mid-2022, after which it will relocate to Qatar.
Many of the region’s governments’ national objectives and strategic visions, as well as their plans for digital expansion, are strategically aligned with current technical advances in logistics.
The new Mobile MEA Innovation Center will provide visitors an engaging and interactive way to learn about the future of logistics. It highlights cutting-edge innovation and solutions, projects, and industry capabilities, extending the Innovation Center ecosystem and assisting with customers for digitalization. DHL is actively influencing the future of logistics and supply chain solutions by working on the newest trends and technology.
