In support of the UAE’s goals to strengthen the Emirati workforce, the Dubai Healthcare City Authority, the governing body of the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) freezone, has developed Masari, a customised employment training programme for UAE nationals.

“Enablement and empowerment form the foundations of the work we do at Dubai Healthcare City in line with the UAE National Agenda,” said Kawthar Kazim, Vice President Business Support, DHCA.

He added, “Masari Programme will give young trainees valuable experience that will contribute to their future successes, by enabling them to harness their academic knowledge to build their professional careers. They will learn on the job directly from department heads, have their place in a team and will be compensated monthly to get a feel of what it is like in a fully functioning workplace environment. Our aim is that it will provide us with a pool of talent who we can nurture and develop to play important roles in the future long-term sustainable development of DHCC.”

The new trainees were asked to name the programme, and they chose ‘Masari,’ which is the Arabic term for “My Pathway,” to give them full control of their training and provide them actual decision-making experience. This aligns with the program’s strategic goals of assisting young Emirati professionals in establishing career paths and realising their full potential.

The programme provides Emirati fresh graduates with three-month paid placements in core DHCA business activities and departments such as business administration, finance, marketing and communications, and information technology.

The UAE government announced plans in September to increase the number of Emiratis working in the private sector by 75,000 over the next five years as part of its ambitious ‘Projects of the 50′ Strategy, a series of developmental and economic projects aimed at speeding up the UAE’s development and transforming it into a comprehensive hub in all sectors, as well as establishing its status as an ideal destination for talent and investors. ’50 Projects’ covers a wide range of topics, including the economy, entrepreneurship, advanced skills, digital economy, space, and advanced technology.

Each three-month training pathway will see qualifying trainees embark on professional training while receiving the appropriate degree of training from industry specialists during the program’s initial phase. Each DHCA graduate will obtain certification, which will aid in the development of their credentials for future job applications.
