Cohesity announces Kirk A. Law as senior vice president of R&D

Kirk A. Law, Cohesity’s senior vice president of research and development, has joined the business (R&D). Law is responsible for engineering, product management, and Cohesity’s ecosystem business in this role.

The IT veteran joins Cohesity with more than 30 years of relevant expertise and a love for creating game-changing products, scaling high-performing teams, enhancing corporate cultures, and delighting customers and partners.

With a background in systems engineering, intelligent automation software, and enterprise product development for on-premises and cloud deployments, Law’s technical knowledge covers numerous sectors, including data management, governance, and security.

Law was a senior vice president of development at Tableau Software, a Salesforce subsidiary, before joining Cohesity. Prior to that, Law worked at Primary Data as the senior vice president of engineering. SanDisk, NetApp, Cacheflow Systems Inc., and SGI were among his previous employers (formerly Silicon Graphics Computer Systems). He started his career at the David Sarnoff Research Center, which was then an RCA Corp. R&D centre, where he acquired many patents in digital TV processing technologies.

Law is the 2012 recipient of the Purdue Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineering Award, which honours alumni who have displayed exemplary accomplishments, leadership, and community service. Law received his BSEE and MSEE degrees from Purdue University. He also serves on the board of directors of Raising a Reader, a nation wide non-profit organisation. Law is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council, Sigma Pi Phi fraternity, the National Society of Black Engineers, and Eta Kappa Nu, Purdue University’s Engineering Honor Society.
