Hitches & Glitches (H&G), a Dubai-based home maintenance specialist, will celebrate Ramadan this year by providing free installation of Ring and NEST smart home gadgets purchased from their online store.

H&G sells and installs Ring’s smart home security products in residential communities across the UAE, providing homeowners and tenants with convenient and effective security solutions.

The Floodlight Cam, the first motion-activated security camera with two-way talk, built-in floodlights, and a siren, and the award-winning Ring Video Doorbell 2, which allows homeowners to answer the door from anywhere, via a two-way voice call and one-way live streaming of any visitor, via their smartphone app or computer, are among the Ring products included.

“We have also expanded our home maintenance offering with a new tech-enabled security service called ‘H&G Neighbourhood Watch’ and applies to H&G customers who have bought and installed the Ring Video Doorbell Elite,” said Kelvin Vargheese, Senior Director – TFM at H&G’s parent company Farnek.

If any homeowner notices any suspicious movement captured by the Ring camera, they will be able to contact H&G, who will dispatch a security officer to the property within 15-30 minutes. Following the inspection, the customer is sent a report that includes any relevant images.

The Spotlight Cam Battery powered and wired HD camera with two-way talk and siren solution is another Ring product covered by the promotion.

In addition, H&G is providing free installation on its NEST products. This third-generation thermostat is at the forefront of smart home technology and is one of the most innovative products on the market today. The Nest learning thermostat ultimately saves energy and money by recording the optimal temperatures in the home and automatically adjusting.

The unique technology allows the user to connect the thermostat to Wi-Fi and change the temperature from anywhere using a phone, tablet, or laptop. It detects when the house is empty and reduces energy consumption to avoid cooling an empty house. It also monitors the weather to adjust the indoor temperature as needed.

“The thermostat has the ability to act as a first line of defence against fire, if the home gets dangerously hot an alert is sent to the synched phone or tablet, alerting the user to the potential danger,” added Vargheese.

The Nest Learning Thermostat’s latest design includes new rings, a larger, sharper display, and recognizes when someone enters the room and displays the time, temperature, and weather. The device also generates a report that details when and how much energy was used and how to avoid overuse.

Other promotional offers include a 10% discount on one-time air conditioning services performed before the summer season begins, as well as a 10% discount on water tank cleaning and/or duct cleaning. Customers with existing annual contracts with H&G will also receive a 5% discount on swimming pool maintenance.
