Diagnosed with meningococcal septicaemia as a baby, she lost both her hands but turned her challenges into a mission to revolutionize prosthetics. Her collaboration with Open Bionics has led to the creation of the Hero Arm, a cutting-edge prosthetic that combines functionality, aesthetics, and advanced AI technology. 

By the age of nine, Lockey began working with Open Bionics to design the Hero Arm, a customizable, lightweight prosthetic powered by AI. Unlike traditional prosthetics, the Hero Arm is controlled by muscle signals, offering users greater independence and functionality. Lockey’s vision extended beyond practicality—she aimed to create a device that celebrated individuality, empowering wearers to embrace their uniqueness with confidence.
