The United Arab Emirates, represented by the UAE Cybersecurity Council, took part in Google Cloud Next 2025 in Las Vegas, USA. The global summit, hosted annually by Google, focused on advancements in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
This year’s event brought together tech leaders, developers, and partners from around the world. Google introduced several AI-powered tools, including the Gemini 2.5 Pro model, Gemini Code Assist, and Google AI Studio. These tools are designed to enhance cloud development and support innovation in multiple sectors, including healthcare and commerce.
During the summit, the UAE Cybersecurity Council announced a major collaboration with Google. The two parties will launch a Global Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence in Abu Dhabi. This new centre reflects the UAE’s commitment to digital transformation and aligns with the country’s Digital Economy Strategy 2031.
The centre aims to strengthen UAE cybersecurity capabilities and promote the safe adoption of digital technologies. It will also support innovation by integrating Google’s advanced products and services into the UAE’s digital infrastructure.
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, represented the country at the event. In his address, he underlined the importance of international partnerships and highlighted national initiatives such as Falcon LLM and Cyber Pulse, which focus on improving digital security.
As part of the collaboration, Abu Dhabi will host the regional headquarters of Google’s first Cybersecurity Academy in the Middle East. The academy will provide certified training programs, develop instructors through Train-the-Trainer sessions, and deliver advanced education in digital technologies.
The initiative is expected to create over 20,300 specialized jobs in the UAE cybersecurity sector. It will also attract an estimated $1.4 billion in foreign direct investment. These efforts are set to boost the country’s economic growth and digital resilience.
In addition, over 25 digital products are currently in development through the UAE-Google partnership. The collaboration will also support local startups by providing access to customized Google Cloud services.
The launch of Google’s regional office in the UAE is expected to contribute further to the local economy. It will help position the UAE as a leading destination for technology, investment, and innovation.
Overall, the initiative showcases the UAE’s dedication to building a secure digital future. It strengthens the country’s position as a global hub for cybersecurity and reinforces its long-term strategy to lead in AI and cloud technology.
