Expo 2020’s star-studded opening ceremony, live streaming and spectacular fireworks

Expo 2020 Dubai’s star-studded opening ceremony will be broadcast live to over 430 sites across the UAE, allowing anybody to take part in the mind-blowing extravaganza no matter where they are.

The first full day of the Expo will be marked by three stunning fireworks displays in Dubai, symbolising the journey from winning the bid in 2013 to opening the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia area, and the greatest global event held since the start of the epidemic.

Opening Ceremony viewing parties will be held across the country on Thursday, September 30th, thanking the nation for its support and urging everyone to come together to enjoy this historic occasion for Dubai, the UAE, and the region as a whole.

Screens will be set up in a variety of locations, including airports, retail malls, hotels, and other landmarks, to broadcast the great music and cultural acts live.

From 1930 GST onwards, viewers from all over the world can join the evening’s festivities via a global live stream, which will be available on virtualexpo.world and Expo TV.

World-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, Grammy-nominated actress, singer, and songwriter Andra Day, platinum-selling British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding, international mega-star pianist Lang Lang, and four-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo are among those set to perform.

The spectacular fireworks displays will take place on Friday, October 1st, starting at 2020 GMT, in Dubai Festival City, The Frame, and The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah, with each location hosting its own celebrations. Both The Pointe and Dubai Festival City’s fountains will be part of a magnificent light and sound performance based around Expo 2020, the Frame’s façade will be illuminated in Expo colours. At each, flags of participating countries will be displayed, along with booths for purchasing Expo 2020 tickets on the ground.

Emaar’s Rove, Armani, Address Hotels & Resorts, and Vida Hotels & Resorts, as well as Accor, Marriot, Hilton, IHG, Rotana, Jumeirah, Hyatt International, and Atlantis the Palm, are among the more than 240 hotels nationwide that will stream the Opening Ceremony.In addition, 17 Majid Al Futtaim malls, plus City Walk, Nakheel Mall and Ibn Battuta Mall, as well as 50 Jashanmal locations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, 97 Mediclinics, Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Airports and Zabeel Ladies Club and Sharaf DG will also stream the experience.

Many Expo 2020 Partners, including Dulsco, Terminus Group, L’Oreal, and Nissan, are throwing Opening Ceremony viewing parties for their employees. Emirates, the Official Airline Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, will also stream events in both local and international first and business class lounges.

Expo 2020 Dubai tickets are available online and through more than 2,500 Authorised Ticket Resellers, which include online travel agencies, tour operators, hotel groups, and airlines from more than 100 countries.
