Fujairah Research Center launches ‘Emirati Researchers’ initiative

Today, the Fujairah Research Centre introduced a new initiative named ‘The Emirati Researchers,’ dedicated to fostering, endorsing, and financing essential scientific analysis and exploration projects within the UAE. Aligned with the organization’s enduring vision of investing in future generations and advancing meaningful applied research and technology in accordance with the UAE Centennial Plan 2071, The Emirati Researchers aims to achieve several overarching objectives.

Focusing on emerging talent, the initiative seeks to empower Emirati scientists by providing the necessary resources for high-quality research across various disciplines. Emirati youths will receive comprehensive support in executing innovative projects, from planning to completion. The outcomes and accomplishments of their work will be published and promoted, enhancing awareness and recognition of research activities at the national level.

Dr. Fouad Lamghari, Director of Fujairah Research Centre, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “Today marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the UAE, where new generations of researchers drive scientific breakthroughs leading to crucial social and economic advancements.” He emphasized the commitment to nurturing talent for long-term national development, paving the way for a transformative era fueled by research-backed discovery.

Under the guidance of Fujairah Research Centre, The Emirati Researchers aims to be a leading incubator for groundbreaking research and discoveries. The initiative will mentor students, sponsor projects, and support innovative ideas through technical and financial means, setting a benchmark for others to follow. The ‘Research Incubation Program’ is highlighted as a key component, where experienced researchers will guide early-level Emirati researchers, offering career development opportunities and training in research collaboration, networking, publication support, data sharing, and open science.

Dr. Lamghari emphasized the importance of learning from experienced researchers, providing platforms for students to glean insights from distinguished national researchers, and fostering cross-sector collaboration. The announcement outlines the intention of Fujairah Research Centre to collaborate with industries through The Emirati Researchers, showcasing the value of research and development in driving innovation and economic growth.
