Honeywell and Riyadh Airports Company (RAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to investigate the use of Honeywell technologies that enable integration and automation at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) to improve efficiency, predictability, and safety while reducing environmental impact.

He added, “This important collaboration with Honeywell will allow us to improve operations at KKIA and gain learnings and insight to use across our airports portfolio, further accelerating the future development of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector and meeting the industry’s requirements in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”

The RAC and Honeywell Memorandum of Understanding specifies the installation, operation, and maintenance of new Honeywell technology at KKIA. Honeywell will create and supply solutions to RAC, assisting in achieving key goals like operational efficiency, uptime and continuity, sustainability, and passenger experience.
The partnership demonstrates RAC and Honeywell’s commitment to supporting the Saudi Arabian government’s plan to build the country into an industrial powerhouse and a worldwide logistics hub. The vision focuses on fostering high-tech and knowledge-based occupations that contribute significantly to the country’s economy and enable it to compete worldwide.
KKIA is 35 kilometers north of Riyadh and serves as the gateway to Saudi Arabia’s largest city. It has five terminals, one of the world’s tallest air control towers, a mosque, and two parallel 4,205-meter-long runways. Terminals 3 and 4 will accommodate up to 11 million passengers per year for international flights by 2022, with 14 different travel options and 80 check-in counters.
