Khobar And Riyadh Announced Cybersecurity Training Events

SANS Institute, a global cybersecurity institute, has announced two upcoming training events in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant step towards enhancing the nation’s cybersecurity capabilities. Scheduled to take place in Khobar from February 10-15, 2024, and Riyadh from February 24 to March 7, 2024, these events are designed to revolutionize cybersecurity education in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia has demonstrated its commitment to cybersecurity excellence, ranking second in the Global Cybersecurity Index for 2023. With a focus on proactive measures against emerging threats, the Kingdom has fortified its cybersecurity frameworks across critical sectors such as finance, energy, healthcare, and government. This emphasis underscores the pivotal role of cybersecurity in maintaining national competitiveness.

He emphasized the increasing sophistication of cyber threats in the Middle East, underscoring the need for a skilled cybersecurity workforce.

He further highlighted the crucial role of cybersecurity training in fortifying Saudi Arabia’s digital landscape, especially in light of the ambitious Vision 2030 goals.

The SANS Khobar event, to be held at the Holiday Inn & Suites Al Khobar, will offer both in-person and live online sessions from February 10-15, 2024. Participants can choose from modules such as Building and Leading Security Operations Centers (LDR551) and Enterprise Penetration Testing (SEC560). Renowned instructors Mark Orlando and Christopher Elgee will lead these sessions, providing participants with invaluable expertise in cyber defense and penetration testing.

Moreover, SANS Khobar will feature a Community Night session led by Christopher Elgee, offering insights into OT Pen-testing and real-world experiences in testing critical systems safely.

For those attending SANS Riyadh, scheduled at the Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers from February 24 to March 7, 2024, a diverse range of courses will be available, including Hacker Tools, Techniques, and Incident Handling (SEC504), Cloud Security Essentials (SEC488), Security Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (LDR514), and Practical Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) (SEC497).

Highlighting the Community Nights in Riyadh, renowned instructors will delve into topics such as integrating security into system design and detecting AI in OSINT investigations. These sessions, accessible both in-person and online, offer invaluable learning opportunities for cybersecurity professionals seeking to stay ahead in an evolving field.
