Lenovo has had a great run, in terms of the laptop market share since a few years now, competing neck and neck with another top brand. With a slightly higher market share, Lenovo sells more laptops than any other brand globally. The Legion series gaming laptops have been Lenovo’s best sellers and a popular choice among consumers. We recently got hold of the latest Legion 7i gaming laptop and as usual this will be a popular device too.

What’s in & on it – Legion 7i is powered by 10th Gen Intel® Core™ H-Series processors with up to 5.3GHz clock speeds (with turbo boost), 8 cores, 16 MB of Intel® Smart Cache, Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost, Intel® Dynamic Tuning, and Intel® Wi-Fi 6. The 15.6” FHD display with anti-glare tech will keep your eyes unaffected to an extent (of course don’t overdo it). The NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ Graphics will add on to your experience with the Legion 7i. The Chassis is jacketed in high-grade aluminum for better durability, performance and sorting out the overheating issues. The refresh panels on Legion 7i models work at a firing speed from 144Hz – 240Hz but most games will clock 144fps or lesser so things are moving still at good speed for you with the Legion 7i. For optimum experience games more than 140 odd fps would work like magic on a device with 240Hz. The visuals are amazing and the experience certainly gets better with demanding games.

Thermal Engineering

Legion 7i features up to an integrated 2mm Vapor Chamber (available only on models with Intel® Core™ i7-10875H & NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2060 and above) and an updated 6-point thermal sensor array, keeping your gaming laptop cool and quiet and allowing it to be thinner. A dual-fan system of 73 liquid-crystal polymer fan blades enhances four dedicated thermal channels to cycle air at top speeds, keeping the system cooler but noise free on the outside. With Lenovo Q Control 3.0, you can manually control the system fan speeds and voltage, for full-throttle framerates or extended battery life and mobility. Also, every Legion Laptop features Dual Burn Support, pushing the CPU & GPU together for max performance in-game. Some plus points there for the engineering.

Graphics

The Legion 7i top model maxes out with The GeForce® RTX 2080 SUPER™ with Max Q Design and is powered by the award-winning NVIDIA Turing™ architecture with more cores, higher clocks, and faster memory. So, this is a power-packed machine with all the ingredients you need and in terms of graphics you are more than sorted.

Visuals & Sound

The Legion 7i display will give you excellent visuals from corners offices to battle-stations for cinema-like immersive gaming experiences. Rich FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution combines with rich color contrast and saturation with 100% Adobe sRGB Color Gamut & VESA DisplayHDR 400 for denser blacks and brighter whites via Dolby® Vision™. You are also in for better in-game framerates with up to 240hz refresh rates at under 1ms response times via OverDrive and NVIDIA® G-Sync technology, all with zero screen tearing or stuttering. The Legion 7i will perform great for most games that are demanding and need that extra power from the system. Legion 7i laptop’s sports dual speakers boosted by smart amplifiers and the Dolby® Atmos Speaker System, fitted with two 4.7cc sound chambers. The sound experience is brilliant on the Legion 7i and will give you a touch of realism while gaming. Gaming laptops are mostly packed with high performance hardware and software so your home and office needs are well covered too on this machine.

Keyboard

The Legion 7i features the Legion TrueStrike keyboard. TrueStrike is specially innovated and designed with soft-landing switches with 1.3mm key travel leveraging a second-transition design. This means you will get deeper strokes with equal force in every strike for an improved input experience, offline or on. TrueStrike also delivers a comfortable layout with dedicated media keys, numberpad, larger arrow keys and one-piece trackpad each individually brought to life in over 16 million different colors via Corsair® iCUE support.

Battery Life –

Charge from 0-50% in under 30 minutes with Rapid Charge Pro. The Legion 7i features all-day battery life via a powerful 80Whr battery and a smart dynamic discharge power management system, all charged via a sleek and slim power adapter. The Hybrid Mode and Advanced Optimus Technology intelligently direct graphical power to the display through the dedicated GPU or integrated GPU for improved battery life while Q Control 3.0 allows for Quiet Mode, lowering the voltage requirement to your CPU for marathon unplugged productivity.

The Lenovo Vantage

Lenovo™ Vantage for Gaming is an addon recommended to choose performance mode for apps and games to calibrate automatically. It’s been popularly used though if you need your settings and calibrations to be controlled and remembered. Overclock CPUs and GPUs and use memory release to push frame rates to the limit. Downshift to Quiet Mode to save battery life or choose Balance Mode for normal use. Control it all in one place!

Pricing and availability

15.6-inch model with Intel Core i7 processors available now, starting from AED 7,499 at Jumbo Electronics, Sharaf DG and amazon.ae.
