MBZUAI debuts Executive Program for top leaders & govt officials in UAE

Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) debuted Executive Program for top leaders & govt officials in UAE. The MBZUAI ExecutiveProgram is designed to help the UAE’s government and business elite unlock the potential of AI to ensure smart management, increased efficiencies, and increased productivity, all of which contribute to unlocking economic potential.

The program will consist of six courses, each taught by teachers from world-class academic institutions, global multinational CEOs, and the university’s own faculty. It will also encourage increased AI collaboration between government, business, and academia in order to speed up the creation of future sectors in the UAE while also supporting the country’s long-term goal of becoming a global AI leader.

H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of the MBZUAI Board of Trustees, said: “Following the establishment of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019, and unveiling of the MBZUAI ExecutiveProgram illustrates, once again, the determination of the United Arab Emirates to position itself at the forefront of the technologies and innovations shaping the global economy.”

H.E. Dr. Al Jaber went on to say that artificial intelligence lies at the heart of the UAE’s national and economic growth plan, with the ability to unleash considerable new growth from established industries as well as pave the way for wholly new business models and creative technologies.

According to him, the new Executive Program will benefit all businesses and economic sectors, demonstrating the UAE’s commitment to fostering local economic growth while also promoting AI as a worldwide force for good. The Program will provide access to some of the most known figures in the AI business via discussion forums, interactive modules, professional networking, and coursework. These include Professor Eric Xing(President of MBZUAI); Professor Sir Michael Brady(Professor Emeritus, University of Oxford); Professor Daniela Rus (Director, MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory); Professor Michael Jordan(Pehong Chen Distinguished Professor, University of California, Berkeley); Professor Tom Mitchell (University Professor, Carnegie Mellon University); Dr. Kai-fu Lee (Chairman & CEO, Sinovation Ventures) and more.

The program is aimed at top leaders in the public and private sectors, as well as undersecretaries and assistant undersecretaries, C-suite executives, IT and technology professionals, and those interested in learning more about AI’s potential.

Its initial cohort, consisting of about 40 top executives, will complete 12 weeks of online practical courses as well as seminars on the AI industry’s business, ethical, and policymaking components. The registration deadline is October 7, 2021, and the first day of classes is October 23, 2021.

The Program’s six courses include An Introduction to AI; AI, Machine Learning and the Economy; Visual Cognition and Intelligence; Lingual Cognition and Intelligence; The Future of Robotics and AI Ethics and Policymaking.
