McAfee announces MVISION Private Access

McAfee Enterprise announced  MVISION Private Access, an integrated method that enables granular ‘Zero Trust’ access and extends data and threat protection capabilities to private applications hosted across hybrid IT environments.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the global working environment to a hybrid environment. The remote working options are the only reliable solution by organizations to ease the pandemic constraints; when the physical offices are replaced by hybrid offices Organizations are increasingly flocking to the cloud for high-speed, low-latency data access and seamless communication. According to a Deloitte study of CIOs, 62 percent of workloads will be in the cloud by the end of 2021, up from 41% in 2019. Workloads will be divided across public, private, and hybrid cloud installations.

“As private applications increasingly move to the cloud, organizations are rapidly adopting Zero Trust Network Access due to its security and flexibility advantages compared to VPN,” said Christopher Rodriguez, research director, IDC Network Security.

Further added, “However, organizations need to recognize that private applications are just as likely to pose a data theft risk as SaaS apps, and that this risk needs to be mitigated.”

MVISION Private Access disrupts the Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) industry by making data-centricity a basic competency of granular “Zero Trust” access to private applications from any location and device, whether in client data centres or hosted in private, public, or hybrid cloud environments. With the solution, a continuous risk assessment on all the devices ranging from managed to unmanaged devices is carried out by compiling it through McAfee Enterprises endpoint security Technology. MVISION Private Access also integrates with MVISION Unified Cloud Edge (UCE) to provide a single low-latency, 99.999 percent available cloud-native platform with unified visibility and control across clouds, private applications, the web, and endpoints.

However, existing ZTNA solutions lack the data-centric security controls associated with cloud and web security needed to secure today’s increasing remote connections,” said Shishir Singh, chief product officer, McAfee Enterprise.

MVISION Private Access ensures remote workforce collaboration by providing secure, very often access to private resources from any location and device:

  • Integrated data loss prevention (DLP) and industry-leading Remote Browser Isolation (RBI): Advanced threat security and complete control over data collaborated through private access sessions are enabled, avoiding incorrect handling of sensitive data, banning harmful files, and securing unknown traffic activity to prevent malware infections on end-user devices.
  • UCE Convergence: Includes MVISION UCE, including Cloud Access Safety Broker and Secure Web Gateway (SWG), providing unified visibility, granular access monitoring, data protection end-to-end, and advanced threat protection from a unified cloud management console. MVISION Private Access also further integrates with IAM (Identity and Access Management) and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) solutions, for higher authentic options for application access and supplementing context-based access controls. This eliminates the risk that threats actors will penetrate corporate networks through compromised devices or user credentials, thus prevents a network spread.
