NVIDIA has revealed a significant expansion in its DLSS support by introducing it to two highly anticipated game launches.

First, NVIDIA announced the availability of Portal: Prelude RTX, now offered as a complimentary download on Steam for those who already possess the original version of the acclaimed game, Portal. Portal: Prelude, a prequel to Portal developed unofficially in 2008, boasts an incredibly demanding 8-10 hour campaign. It stands as the top-rated Portal mod, having secured the title of the 2008 Portal ModDB winner and ranking third in the Player’s Choice mod of 2008.

Portal: Prelude RTX represents a community-based reimagining of this classic Portal mod. Created through NVIDIA’s RTX Remix, it incorporates comprehensive ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA Reflex, and NVIDIA RTX IO to provide the ultimate Portal Prelude experience to GeForce RTX gamers. It holds the distinction of being the first remaster crafted exclusively by modders through the RTX Remix creator toolkit.

To breathe new life into Portal: Prelude RTX, NVIDIA joined forces with Nicolas “NykO18” Grevet, the original creator of Portal Prelude, and renowned modder David “Kralich” Driver-Gomm, who modernized the game’s assets and introduced striking full ray tracing illumination.

Portal: Prelude RTX takes its place as the latest showcase title for NVIDIA RTX Remix, an upcoming free modding platform rooted in NVIDIA Omniverse. This innovative platform empowers modders to swiftly create and share RTX mods for timeless games, enhancing them with upgraded materials, comprehensive ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, and NVIDIA Reflex.

Another major release for PC gamers is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the much-anticipated action-adventure-platformer from Insomniac Games. This title boasts an array of advanced technologies including real-time ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA DLAA, NVIDIA Reflex, and NVIDIA RTX IO, ensuring a remarkable PC gaming experience. It joins an expanding roster of games supporting NVIDIA DLSS, including Remnant II, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, SYNCED, and Wuthering Waves.

In conjunction with the launch of Portal: Prelude RTX, NVIDIA has rolled out a fresh GeForce Game Ready Driver. Optimized for Portal: Prelude RTX, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and other games, this driver offers peak performance levels when utilizing NVIDIA RTX IO and DirectStorage for Windows in these two titles.
